Manufacturing Process

1. Design and Engineering

INTEK Batch Oven manufacturing begins with understanding customer needs (temperature, size, output etc.). Engineer drawings translate these needs into the oven’s structure, heating requirements, controls, and safety. Finally, materials are chosen for durability and heat resistance based on the design.

2. Fabrication

Structural steel and metal sheets are cut and shaped for the oven using CNC fabrication equipment, then formed into the chamber and frame assembly. High temperature fiberglass, mineral wool and/or ceramic fiber insulation is added for heat retention and efficiency.

3. Heating System Integration

Depending on the specific application INTEK’s electric ovens utilize INTEK’s proprietary electric infrared modular heating elements, resistance air heaters, tubular heaters, or plug heaters.  INTEK’s gas fired ovens utilize gas catalytic infrared or direct or indirect fired gas burners.  When certain design applications benefit from the combination of both infrared and convection process heating methods, INTEK employs the Hybrid concept of oven design – utilizing both infrared and convection – gas or electric – for maximum control.

4. Airflow System Installation

Fans and Ductwork: A system of fans and ducts is installed to circulate air within the oven chamber and promote even heat distribution throughout the load. For irregular shaped objects, this method of combining the proper air temperature volume and direction are crucial for achieving consistent process results.

5. Control Panel & UI

INTEK is a certified UL 508A panel shop so each oven project receives individual attention regarding the proper electrical panel design including the controls and interactive displays required for safe operation and process monitoring.

6. Quality Control and Testing

Ovens are rigorously function tested prior to shipment to meet performance requirements, heat uniformly and necessary safety standards.

7. Shipment

After final assembly and final testing each INTEK oven is prepared for shipment using dedicated carriers. Whenever possible each INTEK oven is shipped fully assembled to minimize field installation problems.  Special attention is given to selective freight carriers with air ride suspension and retractable tarping to avoid superficial damage to the equipment.

Additional Notes:

Customization plays a significant role, with additional features like data logging, remote monitoring, and specialized material handling automation for loading/unloading can be incorporated based on customer needs.
