Manufacturing Process

Design & Engineering

Oven specs are set by INTEK designers considering size, heat range, heating type, and controls. Customer needs are specifically considered for each custom lab oven.

Framing and Sheet Metal Fabrication

Most often INTEK ovens include a robust sheet metal frame.  Metal sheets are cut, shaped, and formed into the oven chamber walls, shelves, and external housing using CNC machines, lasers, or stamping presses.

Assembly

Oven parts vary by type (electric or gas). Electric ovens utilize infrared components, while gas ovens add gas burners. INTEK fabricators assemble everything according to specified drawings and instructions.

Wiring & Controls

Electrical wiring, sensors, and control panels are installed and tested for functionality and safety. INTEK is an approved UL508A panel shop.

Gas Line Installation & Testing (Gas Ovens Only)

Gas lines and safety shutoff valves are installed and rigorously tested for leaks and functionality.

Insulation & Finishing

Ceramic fiber or mineral wool insulation is used within oven walls for safety and feverish temperature performance.

Quality Control & Testing

Ovens are fully tested to meet demanding standards of temperature, consistency, and safety.

Packaging & Shipping

Ovens are securely packaged to include user manuals and other documents necessary for shipment.
